2027 Budget Speech to Be Delivered Nov 12

The 2027 Budget Speech will be delivered by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who also holds the portfolio of Finance Minister, on November 12.

The entire Parliament building, including members' rest rooms and wardrobes, will undergo security checks on November 11 and 12, 2026.

On November 12, designated high-security and restricted areas within the Parliament building will also be subjected to security inspections. On that day, access to the Public Gallery will be restricted to special invitees. Invitations will be issued by the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.

Members of Parliament have been requested to travel with their drivers wherever possible and refrain from bringing guests.

Parliamentary staff drivers will be deployed at the entrances to assist MPs who drive their own vehicles in moving them to the designated parking areas.

As the Parliament vehicle park will remain closed on that day, vehicles will be directed to the designated parking facilities, although MPs will be permitted to travel up to the entrance.

The Police Traffic Division and nearby police stations will implement a special traffic management plan.

All Members of Parliament have been requested to extend their cooperation to the Marshal of Parliament and security personnel in implementing these special security arrangements.
