US-Israel's Iran Strikes Live Updates: Iran on March 1 confirmed that Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed at his office in US–Israeli strikes on Tehran, a development that marks a major escalation in the conflict that began on February 28.

The claim followed coordinated attacks by the US and Israel, with Israel saying the US-led operation — codenamed Epic Fury — involved pre-emptive strikes. US President Donald Trump confirmed a “major combat operation” as explosions were reported across Iran.

Tehran, which vowed a “crushing” response to the strikes, targeted US bases across the Middle East, including in the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Jordan.

Several countries in the region shut their airspace, while governments issued advisories urging citizens to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary movement.
