7.4-magnitude quake rocks Colombia

A strong 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck near San Jose del Palmar in Colombia's Choco department on August 10, causing injuries, significant building damage, and at least 20 collapsed structures in Cali with people trapped inside. 

The quake, felt across Colombia and Venezuela, disrupted airport operations and raised aftershock concerns. Authorities are conducting damage assessments and rescue operations. 

Colombia, located in a seismically active region, has a history of destructive earthquakes. No tsunami warning was issued following the quake.
