The Centre has approved an additional subsidy of Rs 100 on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders for beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, in a move aimed at supporting economically disadvantaged households.
Union Minister Anurag Thakur confirmed the increase, stating that "the beneficiaries of the Ujjwala Yojana will now receive a subsidy of Rs 300, up from the previous Rs 200."
Under the Ujjwala Yojana, eligible beneficiaries will now get an increased subsidy of Rs 300 on gas cylinders, marking an increase from the previous Rs 200 subsidy. With this, Ujjwala beneficiaries will be able to purchase gas cylinders for a total cost of Rs 600.
