Saudi National Arrested for Assaulting SriLankan Airlines Flight Attendants

A Saudi Arabian passenger was arrested by Katunayake Airport Police for assaulting two female flight attendants aboard a SriLankan Airlines flight.
The incident occurred on flight UL 266 from Riyadh to Katunayake, when the passenger ignored crew instructions to remain seated with his seatbelt fastened during landing preparations and attempted to go to the lavatory.
An argument ensued, during which the man physically assaulted two flight attendants. Upon landing at 6:30 a.m., the suspect was taken into custody by airport police.
The 28-year-old Saudi national had been en route from Riyadh to Malaysia via Colombo. Police are conducting further investigations.
