Sajith Premadasa congratulates the United National Party

Opposition Leader and SJB leader Sajith Premadasa extended greetings on the UNP’s 79th anniversary.

In his message, he recalled how the UNP was founded by D.S. Senanayake, drawing on the experience of the Ceylon National Congress, which played a major role in the freedom struggle.

He emphasized the party’s crucial role in uniting Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims, Burghers, Malays, and others toward a common national goal.

Stating that the UNP’s service to the country has been invaluable, Sajith Premadasa urged all parties to unite today to safeguard democracy in Sri Lanka.
