RDA Chairman to Visit Mullaitivu Over Kokkilai-Pulmoddai Bridge Project

The Chairman of the Road Development Authority (RDA) will visit Mullaitivu on July 25 to review progress on the proposed Kokkilai-Pulmoddai connecting bridge following concerns raised by Vanni District MP Durairasa Ravikaran.

The issue was discussed at the Ministerial Consultative Committee on Transport, Highways and Urban Development held in Parliament on July 7.

The RDA Chairman said feasibility studies would be reviewed during the visit before further action is taken. Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake also instructed that local stakeholders, including the Mullaitivu District Development Committee Chairman and the District Secretary, be involved in the discussions and assured that funding for the feasibility study would be provided by the ministry.
