NPP Attacked Our Office: USP Charges
04-Sep-2025.
The United Socialist Party (USP) accused the National People’s Power (NPP) of attacking its office in Yakkala, Gampaha, on September 2.
USP Education Secretary Pubudu Jagoda said:
“Government supporters, along with some deputy ministers of the JVP-led NPP, forcibly entered our office and carried out attacks. Four people, including a woman, were hospitalized.
We have used this office for over 13 years. They now claim ownership and tried to evict our members by force. If they had a legal case, they should have produced a court order. Such authority rests only with a court official, not with figures like Vijitha Herath or Tilvin Silva.
This attack exposes the true nature of the NPP. The people can now see how they actually obey the law and how they misuse the police for political purposes.”
