Indian High Commissioner Meets JVP General Secretary

Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Santosh Jha briefed Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva on various initiatives undertaken by the Indian High Commission to further strengthen bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and India.

An official meeting between Indian High Commissioner Santosh Jha and JVP General Secretary Comrade Tilvin Silva was held at the JVP headquarters on October 28.

During the discussion, both sides reviewed in detail the progress of ongoing joint projects between India and Sri Lanka. High Commissioner Santosh Jha also explained the various programmes being implemented by the Indian High Commission to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.

The meeting also discussed General Secretary Tilvin Silva's recent visit to India, undertaken at the official invitation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

In addition, General Secretary Tilvin Silva enquired about the recent cyclone that affected the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. High Commissioner Santosh Jha briefed him on the preparedness measures and relief operations being undertaken in the affected area.
