Former President Maithripala Sirisena honoured with title of 'President of the Happiest Period'

Former President Maithripala Sirisena has been honoured with the title "President of the Happiest Period".

The title was conferred at a special international awards ceremony held at Temple Trees in Colombo. Sirisena attended the event as the chief guest.

Several international guests also attended the ceremony, including Indian actor Garuda Ram, who gained fame through his appearance in the KGF film series.

The ceremony, held on August 29 as part of the "Global Brand Awards 2026" and "She for the Nation - Season 2", was attended by business leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, women leaders and representatives of international brands from Sri Lanka and overseas.
