Sri Lanka Customs recorded strong revenue performance in the opening weeks of 2026, earning Rs. 106.6 billion within the first 13 days of January—exceeding 66% of the monthly target of Rs. 160.2 billion.
Operations had stalled for at least four days in November due to Cyclone Dithva. Despite subsequent disruptions and increased import volumes in December, container clearance processes have been accelerated since last month.
Customs achieved a record Rs. 2,551 billion in revenue in 2025, surpassing the revised annual target of Rs. 2,241 billion and marking a 64.2% increase compared to the previous year.
However, the 2026 revenue target has been reduced to Rs. 2,207 billion due to an anticipated decline in vehicle imports.
