Court Orders Exhumation at Gurukalmadam Mass Grave

In relation to the 1990 abduction and killing of innocent Muslims, who were forcibly taken at Kalmunai after completing the Hajj pilgrimage and buried at Gurukalmadam, a complaint was filed at Kaluvanchikudy Police Station by Raouf on behalf of the victims’ families.

The case continued at the Kaluvanchikudy Magistrate’s Court on August 25 before Magistrate J.P.E. Ranjithkumar. The magistrate issued an order to exhume the human remains buried at the specified location.

Police in Kaluvanchikudy are undertaking further measures. Notably, legal representatives from the “Kurals” movement attended the proceedings on behalf of the complainant.

Later, the magistrate visited the coastal area of Gurukalmadam, identified the site in question, declared it a security zone, and instructed the police to provide protection during the exhumation.
