BJP fields 'Sonia Gandhi' in Kerala local body polls

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has fielded a candidate named Sonia Gandhi from the Nallathanni ward to contest local body elections. 

The 34-year-old candidate was named after the veteran Congress leader by her father, a party worker, but she later switched allegiance to the BJP. She faces Congress candidate Manjula Ramesh and the CPM's Valarmati in the contest.
