Sridhar Vembu says globalism is dead
21-Jul-2026.
Zoho founder Sridhar Vembu has said that globalism is ending and urges India to adopt a China-like approach of sharing advanced technology internationally, contrasting post-WWII internationalism focused on cooperation and technology transfer with post-1990s globalisation driven by commercial interests and intellectual property protection.
He highlights China's open-source AI initiatives, like the Kimi K3 model, as elevating its global influence.
Vembu suggests India should revive voluntary tech sharing to become a global leader, rather than prioritising IP control and commercial dominance.
