Authorities Discuss Security Measures in Trincomalee District

A key discussion regarding the security of Trincomalee District was held on September 27, 2025, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

The meeting was chaired by the district coordinating officer along with Foreign Affairs, Employment, Tourism Minister Arun Hemachandra, Deputy Defense Minister Arun Jayasekara, and former Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyyagonda, with participation from military officers.

The meeting focused on strengthening coastal security, intensifying anti-narcotics measures, controlling organized groups and illegal activities, and the gradual release of private assets held by the military. 

The deputy minister emphasized prompt execution of necessary measures.
