Two teens arrested for attempted arson at Oshawa business

Two 16-year-old boys are facing several charges related to an attempted arson at an Oshawa business, said Durham police.

Officers responded the afternoon of Feb 19 to calls of an armed person at a business near Simcoe Street S. and Bruce Street, according to a Durham police news release.

Police said two male suspects broke the front door glass and "attempted to ignite an incendiary device." Both suspects were found and arrested the same day, said police.

A 16-year-old boy from Scugog is facing 15 charges, including arson, possession of incendiary material and three counts of failure to comply with a release order.

Another 16-year-old boy from Toronto is facing 10 charges, including arson, disguise with intent and four counts of failure to comply with a sentence order.
