A man has been found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 15 years in prison after a woman was killed in the small B.C. Interior community of Naramata in June 2021.
Ekene Anigbo was sentenced on November 2 in the killing of Kathleen Richardson, in what court heard was part of an escalating cycle of gang violence and retaliation against Richardson's son due to rival gang hits and stolen drugs.
Anigbo was initially charged with first-degree murder in the case, along with associate Jalen Falk.
While Falk pleaded guilty to second-degree murder earlier this year and was sentenced to life in prison, Anigbo was found guilty of the lesser offence of manslaughter in August.
