City data shows 25% increase in people experiencing homelessness in Hamilton

The number of people experiencing homelessness in Hamilton has surpassed 2,000, representing a 25 per cent increase, according to city data.

The number of people "actively homeless" is at 2,029, an increase from the city's previous number of 1,600.

The data currently on the city's housing and homelessness dashboard is the first update to the numbers since a ransomware attack impacted city services in February 2024.
