A US intelligence memo has warned that Iran has increased efforts to target American diplomats and officials across the Middle East and abroad, with lethal plots reaching advanced stages. 

The escalating security situation has prompted the US government to reduce embassy mission strength and operations in the region while ramping up its military presence. 

The developments follow statements by US President Donald Trump indicating potential military strikes under another round of Operation Epic Fury after the midterm elections if Iran does not agree to American ceasefire terms.
