12 dead, 300 injured in Houthi strike on Riyadh airport
11-Oct-2026.
A third Houthi drone attack on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport killed at least 12 and injured over 300, including an American citizen, escalating the Yemen conflict. The airport was shut down and flights were diverted.
The Houthis declared Saudi airspace a military zone amid Saudi-backed Yemeni government offensives. The attacks expose Saudi air defense weaknesses and drew US condemnation and possible military involvement.
Despite disruptions, Riyadh's upcoming energy and investment conferences will continue as planned amid regional tensions.
