Indian Premier League (IPL) Chairman Arun Dhumal has wished team India good luck ahead of their Asia Cup 2025 clash against Pakistan and said that they’re just following the government’s stance.

The two teams are set to lock horns in the continental tournament on September 14 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.

There’s massive backlash amongst fans ahead of the fixture after the BCCI went ahead with the match in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

However, Arun Dhumal shut down the criticism, saying that the Board is just following the government’s stance with regard to their sporting relations with Pakistan, which states that two countries can face off in multinational events.

"I would like to wish Team India all the best. I think the government has clarified its position. We are not going to play Pakistan, but we are going to play them in ACC/ICC events. So we will follow what the government says," Dhumal was quoted as saying by Times of India.
