Tamil Nadu govt sanctions Rs 264 crore for 65 anti-narcotics police stations

The Tamil Nadu government has allocated Rs 264 crore to establish 65 Anti-Narcotics Task Force police stations with over 1,600 personnel, fulfilling Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's promise to intensify drug crackdown.
The task forces will operate statewide, specialize in narcotics-related crimes, and include cyber-surveillance and financial investigations. A dedicated ANTF headquarters under an ADGP will oversee operations.
The initiative also involves rehabilitation and awareness efforts by health, education, and youth departments, aiming for a Drug-Free Tamil Nadu.
