Indian wanted for defrauding US govt with $93-million genetic testing scam

Khadeer Khan Mohammed, owner of American Premier Labs in Texas, is accused of defrauding Medicare of about $93 million through fraudulent genetic testing claims between August 2023 and October 2024. Medicare paid $63 million, including $13 million in 10 days in 2023. 

Authorities seized $6 million from his accounts. He allegedly used doctors' identities without consent to submit unauthorized claims. Mohammed is now a fugitive believed to be in India. His case is pending, with no conviction announced.
