We Will Topple the Government at the First Opportunity; Namal’s Vow

SLPP National Organizer Namal Rajapaksa declared that unless the government stops lying and begins genuine work, the opposition will topple the government at the first opportunity.

He added:

Even if the government threatens us with imprisonment, we will not be intimidated. We are here not for personal gain but to provide leadership to the people whenever needed.

As a responsible opposition, it is our duty to expose the government’s false promises. We urge the government to stop misleading the public and start implementing meaningful programs.

Government officials are being victimized for political reasons. The Police Chief must remember that it is the President who does politics; the police must remain neutral.

We have never asked the police not to seize drugs. What we ask is to seize all 323 containers—including those containing narcotics—that left the port without authorization.

When opposition members are implicated, the government points fingers; but when those linked to the ruling party are arrested, they bury the truth. The government plans to use organized criminals supporting them to suppress the opposition, but these plans will never succeed.

If the government does not heed the people’s message—“Stop lying and get to work”—we will overthrow it at the earliest opportunity.
