Two More Human Skeletal Clusters Identified at Chemmani Mass Grave

Two more human skeletal clusters have been identified on the sixth day of the third-phase excavation at the Chemmani mass grave site on May 2. In addition, three skeletal clusters previously identified have been fully excavated.
With the latest discovery, a total of 246 human skeletal clusters have been identified so far at the Chemmani mass grave site, of which 243 clusters have been fully excavated.
Meanwhile, suspicious black soil found within the grave has been removed and is currently being dried. Steps have been taken to send samples for examination.
A structure resembling a wooden box has also been identified within the grave, and cleaning work is currently underway. Attorney V.S. Niranjan stated that confirmation regarding the object can only be made once the cleaning process is completed.
He further stated that excavation work will not take place on Sunday, and that the seventh day of excavation is scheduled for May 4.
