Thajudeen case being used to cover up controversies – Nalin Bandara
03-Oct-2025.
SJB MP Nalin Bandara said the Wasim Thajudeen murder case is being publicized by the government to divert attention from recent controversies surrounding it.
Speaking after a meeting at the Opposition Leader’s office on October 2, he said while reopening investigations is welcome, what is happening now is propaganda, not genuine inquiry.
He warned against using the case for political gain, stressing instead that fair investigations must deliver justice to Thajudeen’s family.
Bandara also criticized the government’s inability to effectively implement any program, including those initiated by former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
He said people already recognize the government’s failures and that the SJB would strengthen its position further in future provincial elections, aiming to form the next government.
