Tata Trusts calls N Chandrasekaran's reappointment legally invalid

Tata Trusts declared the reappointment of N Chandrasekaran as Tata Sons chairman legally invalid, as the resolution lacked mandatory support from both Trust-nominated directors despite a 41 Board vote in favour. 

The Trusts argued the company's Articles of Association require unanimous approval from their nominees, which was unmet. 

This dispute reopens succession issues and complicates the upcoming AGM, with challenges including restrictions on one Trust's ability to hold meetings and jointly nominate representatives, affecting crucial decisions on Chandrasekaran's directorship.
