Tamil National Council Delegation Meets BJP Tamil Nadu State President

Members of the Tamil National Council led by Gajendrakumar Ponnambalam urged BJP Tamil Nadu State President Nainar Nagendran to pressure India to oppose Sri Lanka’s efforts to impose a unitary constitution and instead support a federal constitution recognizing Tamil nationhood, sovereignty, and self-determination.

The delegation met several Tamil Nadu political leaders in Chennai, including Dravidar Kazhagam leader K. Veeramani and Tamilaga Vazhvurimai Party leader and MLA Thirumavalavan Velmurugan.

On Dec 20, they met Nainar Nagendran at the BJP state headquarters, Kamalalayam, reiterating their demands. The longstanding fisheries dispute between the two countries was also discussed.
