The Sri Lankan Deputy Consulate in Jeddah has advised pilgrims planning to travel to Saudi Arabia for Umrah to exercise caution when making their travel arrangements.

The advisory was issued in view of the prevailing situation in Saudi Arabia and the potential impact on Sri Lankan nationals travelling to the country.

According to the advisory, the regional situation could cause disruptions to flights travelling to and departing from Saudi Arabia.

Pilgrims intending to undertake Umrah have therefore been urged to remain vigilant and make their travel arrangements carefully.

Those planning the pilgrimage have also been advised to maintain regular contact with their authorised Umrah group representatives or travel agents.

The consulate further urged pilgrims to prepare alternative travel arrangements in advance so that they would be better equipped to deal with emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.
