Sri Lanka’s GDP grows by 5.4 percent in the third quarter

The growth rate of Sri Lanka’s Gross Domestic Product for the third quarter of 2025 has been recorded at 5.4 percent, according to a report released by the Department of Census and Statistics.
The report further states that the performance of key economic sectors contributed to this strong growth. During this period, agricultural activities recorded a growth of 3.6 percent, while industrial activities showed a significant increase of 8.1 percent.
In addition, the services sector grew by 3.5 percent. It is noteworthy that Sri Lanka’s GDP growth rate for the second quarter of this year (April to June) was recorded at 4.9 percent.
