Sri Lanka Receives 4.5 Million Dollars from the UN Emergency Relief Fund

The UN’s resident representative in Sri Lanka, Marc-Andre Franche, officially handed over 4.5 million dollars from the UN’s emergency aid fund to Foreign Minister Wijitha Herath.

They discussed the national situation and the UN pledged full cooperation for relief and rebuilding.

The UN said priority areas for ongoing aid include food security, housing, clean water, education, health, agriculture and fisheries. A team of five UN officials has arrived to conduct a detailed assessment.
