Sri Lanka Reaffirms Full Support for China’s One-China Policy – Deputy Speaker

Deputy Speaker Rishad Bathiudeen stated that Sri Lanka fully supports China’s One-China policy and that China’s continued contributions have been crucial to Sri Lanka’s recovery.

Speaking at the CPC briefing event, he said that China’s five-year and 15-year plans adopted at the plenary session are of great importance.

He noted that Sri Lanka has been severely affected by recent disasters and that China promptly provided relief and financial assistance, demonstrating its longstanding friendship. He thanked President Xi Jinping, the Chinese government, and the people of China for their support.

Sri Lanka views China’s climate policies, disaster management strategies, and infrastructure reconstruction mechanisms as highly valuable and believes they will significantly aid recovery efforts.

He added that the government led by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is committed to building a new Sri Lanka through digitalization, modernization, and economic diversification, while sharing China’s high-value development experience.

He reaffirmed Sri Lanka’s full support for China’s One-China policy and expressed confidence that bilateral relations will continue to strengthen for mutual progress.
