Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa stated on April 3 that the government has failed to provide solutions to the growing problems faced by citizens.

He emphasised the urgent need for a relief package, highlighting rising fuel prices, electricity tariffs, and taxation that have burdened the public.

Premadasa called for immediate action to protect consumers’ rights, reduce economic strain, and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply, criticising the government’s continued reliance on low-quality coal for power generation.
