Sajith Invited to UNP Convention by Ranil Wickremesinghe

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has been invited by former President Ranil Wickremesinghe to attend the upcoming United National Party convention on September 6.

Whether Sajith will attend will be decided at a meeting of the SJB management committee. If he does attend, it is expected that other senior members of the SJB will also join, making this convention a decisive event for the future of both UNP and SJB politics.

The UNP has also decided to invite other opposition party leaders to the annual convention, which will be held at the Jubilee Hall near Lake House, Colombo, instead of the party headquarters at Sirikotha, to ensure wider participation.

Additionally, the UNP plans to lift bans on former members expelled from the party and reintegrate them, with the proposal to be presented at the executive committee meeting. Ranil Wickremesinghe is expected to extend direct invitations to party leaders in the coming days.
