Review Conducted at the Management Committee Meeting of the Sri Lanka Rebuilding Fund

The Management Committee of the Sri Lanka Reconstruction Fund met to discuss strategies for raising funds locally, internationally, and from multilateral partners.

The committee, established on the instructions of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to rebuild the country after Cyclone, convened on Dec 3 at the Presidential Secretariat under the chairmanship of Dr. Anil Jayanta Fernando, Minister of Industries and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning.

Detailed discussions were held on continuing to mobilize financial resources to rebuild all sectors affected by the cyclone. 

Accordingly, attention was given to strategic measures for fundraising, engaging foreign diplomats, international organizations and Sri Lankans working overseas. Support from domestic public institutions, private organizations and individuals was also considered.

Senior Additional Secretary to the President, Russell Aponsu, convenor of the Management Committee, together with other members from the public and private sectors, participated in the meeting.
