Rail Services to Hill Country Restricted

Rail services to hill country areas have been limited due to adverse weather. 

As a precaution, night mail trains on the main hill country line between Colombo, Nanu Oya, and Badulla were temporarily restricted. 

Night mail trains now operate only between Colombo Fort and Nanu Oya, and vice versa, with the last services running until 8:30 p.m. from Colombo Fort and 10:50 p.m. from Nanu Oya.

Due to heavy natural disasters, the Colombo–Badulla night mail service was further restricted yesterday to terminate at Nawalapitiya Railway Station. 

Passengers with reserved seats between Nanu Oya and Badulla can claim refunds at any station with reservation facilities. The railway department expressed regret for the inconvenience caused.
