No Benefit in Extending Emergency Law – Rauff Hakeem

Sri Lanka Muslim Congress leader MP Rauff Hakeem stated that the government is using Emergency Regulations instead of ordinary law and has failed to provide adequate disaster relief.

He argued that the Disaster Management Act already provides sufficient powers and warned of the risk of misuse of emergency powers. He urged the government to lift the Emergency Regulations.
