NDA to retain Bihar

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance is predicted to retain Bihar, according to nine exit polls. Pollsters have predicted a bigger mandate for the BJP compared to its previous tally of 125 seats back in 2020. 

The poll of polls projects the NDA to win more than 147 seats, comfortably surpassing the 122-seat majority mark in the 243-member Bihar Assembly.

However, while exit polls offer a tantalising preview of voter sentiment, past elections have shown that the pollsters often get it wrong. Thus, these numbers must be taken with a pinch of salt.

According to pollsters, the Mahagathbandhan is unlikely to cross the three-figure mark, securing around 90 seats.
