Membership of Eight SLFP Members Temporarily Suspended

Eight members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) have had their party membership temporarily suspended for supporting the National People’s Power (NPP) in passing the 2026 Budget, contrary to the party’s guidelines.

The SLFP announced that these individuals acted against party notices, guidance, and instructions. A report will be submitted at the next Central Committee meeting, and disciplinary action will be taken against them.

The list of temporarily suspended members is as follows:

Rathugamage Umesha Rashmi Malshani – Nattandiya Pradeshiya Sabha

Wakalande Athula Kumara Wakalath – Polgahawela Pradeshiya Sabha

Balasuriya Mudiyanselage Anura Kumara – Polgahawela Pradeshiya Sabha
