Large-scale assets of drug trafficker Shiran Basik uncovered

Information has emerged that Shiran Basik, a major drug trafficker currently in custody, owns assets including hotels and vehicles in Switzerland, Italy and France.

The information reportedly came to light during questioning of Basik by officers of the Central Criminal Investigation Bureau. 

Investigations have reportedly revealed that Basik had travelled to the respective countries to manage his business operations.

He is also alleged to own a jeep in Dubai valued at more than Rs.15 million.

Earlier investigations had also uncovered properties including hotels located along Colombo Beach Road and mobile phone shops in the Boralesgamuwa area.
