Gnanasara Thera Seeks Expeditious Conclusion of Case

General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena, Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera, informed the Colombo High Court on September 16, 2026, that he expected the case filed against him by the Attorney General over alleged remarks insulting Islam to be concluded expeditiously.

The matter was brought to the attention of the court by counsel appearing for Gnanasara Thera when the case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Buddhika C. Ragala.

The accused, Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera, appeared before court yesterday in connection with the proceedings.

Counsel Ashoka Weerasuriya, appearing with counsel Sanjaya Marambe on behalf of the accused, informed court that his client, Gnanasara Thera, expected the proceedings in the case to be concluded expeditiously.
