Freelance Journalists’ Movement Condemns Killing of Journalists in Palestine
14-Aug-2025.

The Freelance Journalists’ Movement has strongly condemned the killing of journalists reporting from Palestine, describing it as a deliberate attempt to silence the voices of people affected by the genocide in Gaza.
According to their statement, five Al Jazeera journalists, including renowned reporter Anas Al-Sharif, were killed in an Israeli drone strike targeting their tent near Al-Shifa Hospital.
The group noted that since October 2023, 186 journalists have been killed in Palestine, citing reports from the Committee to Protect Journalists.
International news agencies BBC, AP, and AFP have also reported severe hardships faced by their correspondents, including food shortages.
The Movement urged the global community to join in condemning the killings and the suppression of media, which it said go far beyond legitimate security concerns and amount to media repression aimed at silencing the truth about the genocide.
