Conspiracies Are Within Government, Not Opposition: Former MP Saman Ratnapriya

Former UNP MP Saman Ratnapriya dismissed claims that opposition parties are conspiring against the government, stating that conspiracies are happening within the government itself.

He commented following President Anura Kumara Dissanayake’s recent parliamentary speech, which mentioned conspiracies both inside and outside the government.

Ratnapriya said the President must have credible evidence to expose conspiracies. Opposition parties do not constitute a threat to the government. Instead, confusion within the government causes internal problems.

He also criticized Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya for giving misleading information in Parliament about the CCS space program, which triggered a no-confidence motion against her.

Further, he highlighted concerns about the government’s alleged alliance with the Chinese Communist Party, which seeks an 18-year rule to bring about social change, a move that disturbs India. Opposition spokesman Rilvin Silva’s statements on this issue are reportedly causing unease in India.
