China pledges continued assistance for Sri Lanka’s reconstruction – Wang Junzheng

Wang Junzheng, Member of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Party Secretary of the Xizang Autonomous Region, stated that China will provide all necessary assistance to Sri Lanka and is ready to share its experience in reconstruction efforts.

He made these remarks during a meeting with President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat on Dec 23.

The President thanked China for its emergency humanitarian assistance and ongoing support, noting that it strengthens the long-standing friendship between the two countries.

Wang Junzheng affirmed China’s commitment to continuing and initiating development projects in Sri Lanka, supporting key government initiatives such as “Clean Sri Lanka” and anti-corruption efforts, and sharing expertise in rural poverty alleviation.

Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong and senior officials from both countries attended the meeting.
