Case against former President Ranil postponed

The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court has postponed to January 28, 2026, the case filed under the Public Property Act against former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

Wickremesinghe appeared in court on October 29.

Magistrate Isuru Neththikumara directed the CID to expedite the investigation and present any suspects involved before the court.

The magistrate also ordered an inquiry into whether any act of contempt of court had occurred during the previous hearing and to report who was responsible and what action would be taken.

Accordingly, the case was postponed to January 28, 2026, for further hearing.
