Bus Swept Away by Floods in Monaragala with 26 Passengers

Flooding in Monaragala District caused water to overflow the Kumbukkan Oya Bridge on the main Monaragala–Colombo Road.
Several vehicles were swept away, according to the Monaragala Disaster Management Center.
A bus traveling on this route was swept away, and nearby Sri Shanmugam Vidyalayam was completely submerged.
Police confirmed that all 26 passengers aboard the bus were safely rescued.
Travelers are advised to exercise extreme caution, and residents near Kumbukkan Oya are urged to relocate to safe areas.
