Bombay High Court rejects bail plea of 4 convicts in journalist J Dey murder case

The Bombay High Court on October 6 refused to suspend the sentence and grant bail to four convicts in the 2011 murder case of senior journalist Jyotirmoy Dey, popularly known as J Dey.

A division bench of Justices Ravindra V Ghuge and Gautam A Ankhad said, “We have given reasons. In these circumstances, we do not deem it appropriate to suspend the sentence and grant bail.”

The detailed order is yet to be uploaded. 

However, the court’s decision means that the four convicts will remain in prison until their appeals are fully heard and decided by the High Court.
