At breakfast scheme launch, Vijay serves students, eats pongal with them

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay expanded the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Free Breakfast Scheme to include students in Classes 6 to 8, benefiting 15.3 lakh more students across 15,454 government and aided schools. 

Launched at a Chennai school, the scheme aims to improve nutrition and promote school attendance. The government allocated an additional Rs 217.63 crore for this expansion, increasing total funding to Rs 724 crore. The program was renamed from the Chief Minister's Breakfast Scheme in honour of former CM K Kamaraj.
