All Tamil parties now aligned on common position: M.A. Sumanthiran

Illankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi General Secretary and Attorney-at-Law M.A. Sumanthiran stated that all Tamil political parties are now united in their position on exercising internal self-determination.

He made these remarks at the 49th memorial event of S.J.V. Chelvanayakam held at Jaffna Central College.

He stated that Tamil people were historically excluded from national political life following the First Republican Constitution, leading to demands for self-determination.

He noted that discussions on federalism and constitutional reform have continued for decades, and that all Tamil parties now agree on internal self-determination within a federal framework.
