National Film Awards to move out of Delhi for first time, Gujarat to host ceremony

The 72nd National Film Awards, traditionally held in New Delhi, are set to be hosted for the first time in Ekta Nagar, Gujarat, home of the Statue of Unity. President Droupadi Murmu is expected to present the awards during her visit. 

The awards, announced in July, honored 2024 films, with Article 370 winning Best Feature Film, Yami Gautam Best Actress, and Mammootty and Kartik Aaryan sharing Best Actor. Aanand L Rai won Best Direction for a film about the Statue of Unity.
